Just curious but does doing jump rotations (doubles, triples, etc) inside a pool actually help u rotate better on land/ ice. Because im trying to get rid of that little cheat on my jumps.

Thanks!

  1. While it might be a good little work out, I don't think it'll really help with actual rotations.  I think there's too much resistance, which would make your rotations really slow and thus really hard to do.  Practice your jumps/rotations off-ice to build the strength.  See if you can get on the harness with your coach.  I've found that adding a little more follow through with the snap and arms helps with the little bit more rotation needed.  Good luck!  :)

  2. I don't believe that's possible, because the water is too dense and thick. However, if you can do it, then try it! I'm not saying don't, but i dont think it's easy. There are other options, though. You can try it off ice, on some soft carpet, use a harness with your coach, a trampoline, etc. So, good luck with your jumps! :]

  3. I used to do that too. I don't think it helps much. I just do them off ice. That, for me, is the best practice. It may help a little, but I could never do more than two rotations in the water so it didn't help me much.

  4. That never really helped me.  What worked was just practicing on land or on a trampoline.  I don't know if it works for you, but it was almost impossible for me to rotate that many times in the water...it's just too dense.
