  1. I'm assuming each rectangle is seperate.

    Each rectangle is 8cm sq. (72/9). The area of a rectangle is length x width.

    8=l x w

      =4xw

      =4x2.

    W=2.

    Therefore, the length of a rectangle is 4 cm and the width is 2 cm. The perimeter of 1 rectangle would be 12 cm, so it would be 12x9 or 108cm perimeter in total.

  2. area = length*width

    the given length of each rectangle is  = 4 cm

    9*length*width=72total area

    9*4*width=72

    width=72/36=2

    2 cm is the width of each rectangle

    perimeter = 2l + 2w = 2(4)+2(2)=12 cm = perimeter of one rectangle

    If they stuck all the rectangles together into an odd shape to make a bigger rectangle you will have to use logic to figure out the perimeter of the figure yourself as the perimeter will vary depending on shape. for example if you stuck two next to each other they would have a height of 4 and a width of 4 and a perimeter of 16 cm but if you stacked them they would have a length of 8 and a width of 2 and a perimeter of 20 cm.

  3. total area=72sqcm for 9 rectangles

    area of each=72/9=8sqcm

    length of each=4cm  and total length=4*9=36cm

    width of each=8/4=2cm

    perimeter=2*36+2*2=72+4=76cm

  4. The width = (72/9)/4 = 2.

    So perimeter of each = 2(4+2) = 12.
