  1. No way!

I started skating in 7th grade, and I'm in 10th grade no, and I'm on my loop and camel spin.

  2. You sound like a great firgure skater! Don't let what your cousin says get to you. He only says that because he doesn't want you to get better than him. You're never too old to learn more. I have been figure skating for 7 months now and I had my first lesson on my 15th birthday. You will catch on very soon. Good luck with your axel! I haven't learned it yet but I hear it takes a long time to perfect it. I am still working on my camel spin and back scratch spin. You're going to do great!

  3. no, it's never too late to start.

& one thing - i don't think you should be trying to do an axel if you don't have a coach! you need to get your backspin and loop good before you do that! your coach will know when you're ready for an axel. the only reason i'm telling you this is because sometimes it takes skaters up to a year to get their axel. and more to get it consistant.

  4. You are certainly not too old to start lessons. i started skating 5 months ago at level 1 and i'm twelve.(im now at level 8) Sure its going to be discouraging but at our age if we love the ice we love the ice. and tell your cousin that when you are able to do an axle and he can't simply spin you'll be laughing. don't listen to him. I'm incredibly amazed that you taught yourself the toe loop. if there is no way you can get to skate practice talk to your parents about the idea of taking the bus or something.what ever you do do NOT give up. You are good and you could really do well in the sport. Good luck!! have fun

  5. hae im 12 to

and i do skating toi started wen i was 8

and now i great, yer not to old to start my

coachis teaching a beginer 73 yar old!

So just go and do skating its REALY fun!!!

    : )

  6. Nooo... You are not to old to start... I started when I was Eleven and I breezed right through the classes. The bad part is that you will have to start off at Basic One. So Good Luck and have fun!!!!!

If you think I helped pick me for best answer.

  7. FIRST OF ALL DONT LISTEN TO YOUR COUSIN

next try to find someone to drive you there or if you live close to the rink ride your bike or scooter or something no you are not too old at my rink there are instructors that give classes to adults the oldest so far said that he was 41 and another was 35

  8. It's all up to you. If you learned up to the axel, then things should easily fall back into place, your memory will come back and most likely you might be able to start learning harder jumps after axel after a couple months of re-learning everything. I started taking lessons when I was 12 too!

  9. your cousins just teasing you to try and be funny (you know how annoying family members get)

its never too late to start skating again! you could get really far!

although i dont think the olympics are in your range. its possible but its never happened in womens figure skating.

anyways, you still know the basic jumps and spins up to the axel that you were learning before! i know a lot of people say this but here it goes......practicing off-ice will help your jumps. just remember them and do them off-ice.

by the way: a good way to get back at your cousin is...after he says you arent a worthy figure skater, say "oh yeah, because skating and turning left is so much harder"

it will get him back for sure ;)

  10. Get back into it and practice when you can.  Lots of people take time off from skating and come back years later.  Most if not all of it comes back....sometimes even better.  Sometimes when you're a little older, you do take it a little more seriously and focus more on the details.  I'd use your cousin's pestering as motiviation....turn a positive into a negative.  Skate hard, get it back and advance even more to shut him up.  You're never too old.  There are plenty of skaters out there much older than you that are just starting out.  Skate because you enjoy it and don't worry about what everyone else thinks.  :)
