  1. Without knowing how flexible you are now, it's hard to say what you need. A good exercise is to raise your arms over your head, look up, and gently relax your back and bed over backwards. Try to relax not just the lower back, but work the stretch gradually up your entire spine.

  2. Have you tried yoga?

  3. i was the expert at beillmann's and back beillmann's and doughnut spins i was a very flexible skater (i now coach it) i used to do lots of back exercises and practice the beillmann off ice to help get suttle, if you put your right hand under the blade twist arm round and pull leg out and up and then bend back tilt head back and collect blade with left hand and then pull up, do some bridges off ice to flex the back and stretches like kneeling on both knees and stretch arms out in front to stretch the back muscles i also used to do splits up the wall to help towards the beillmann, i also used to stand on the ice and hold onto the barrier and bend back as far and take a deep breath and go a little further.  i was lucky i didnt have to do too many back exercises to suttle up as i was very flexible if you are then you wont have a issue if not then be careful i use to dislicate my shoulder though to help get the position sounds disgusting i know!!

  4. Backbends def. help.  Also, just practicing your beillmann will make you at least a little more flexible.  For your spirals, do simple floor stretches (straddle to the center and both sides, spilits, ballet barre stretches.  Another good exercise is to lift your leg up in a spiral position off ice with a light ankle weight on it and hold the position for 30 seconds to a minute.

  5. stretching your back a lot helps

  6. streching your back and probrally going to other stuff like gymnastics. And do the beilmen position off the floor that helps it too!
