  1. nah kimmie is such a powerful sk8r. she allways pulls it off at competition time. in my opionion zhang is no threat

  2. Kimmie can do it. I don't think Zhang is a threat. Kimmie is just coming up with something so powerful it will get her gold!

  3. Kimmie can be very inconsistant so if she falls once, she usually screws up her whole program. She hasn't had very consistant jumps as usual, so Zhang might be a small threat.

  4. Like I said in my previous posting.  Kimmie at the moment is stronger mainly because she skates faster and is taller so her lines look much better.  Give Caroline a chance to grow up and she's going to knock Kimmie off the US podium.  Kimmie does have a triple axel but she hasn't really landed it in almost a year, or even tried to land it.  She's not very consistent either.  Look at Asada.  She's always flutzing but instead of correcting that error, they're willing to absorb the deduction because she's concentrating on earning the points elsewhere...like her artistry.  Kimmie doesn't have artistic abilities to earn her points....when she falls, her scores take a a real tumble too since she doesn't have a strong artistic score to fall back on.

  5. Zhang needs to work on her speed and jumps. Unless she does that, Kimmie will win every time as long as they are consistent and skate their best programs. In addition, I must remind you that Kimmie is taking a full array of college courses (9 hrs a day), so I'm not sure if she got a lot of practice in the beginning of this season, and same goes for Emily Hughes, who's at HARVARD.

For the other answerer a couple of answers above of me, Emily Hughes is NOT FAT. Some people are sooooo weird. Those kind of comments lead to anorexia, and if ur calling her fat, look at all the other people around u.  Anywho, Emily was supposed to have won the 2007 Nationals, with her excellent jumps and spins there.. 2 of Kimmie's triple-triples were unfairly upgraded. If the judges and technical specialists at Nationals didn't play favorites of the top skater, we wouldn't have had this problem. (Another example of Mao Asada at the 2007 Japanese Nationals- the 2007-08 Nationals for those of u who don't know... She flutzed and two footed her loop jumps in the short programs, which was extremely obvious, but the Judges subtracted NOTHING. In fact, they gave the jumps positive GOEs.) Anyway, enough of my ranting.

I think Caroline's already a threat to Kimmie. Caroline's spins and spirals are pushing her up to the higher ranks. (In addition, her Biellman spins are hideous (as in the position- ugly back position and ugly leg position, but it's a good stretch, same with her back spiral) and her edges are shallow; those need to be worked on.

  6. I do think Caroline will be a threat to Kimmie.  I think Caroline is more consistent, powerful and has more of a spark when performing.

  7. There's a chance that both might win , but isn't Caroline younger? You have to give the girl some credit for being younger.....I think they are both very good skaters! :D

  8. in 2008 I dont think so. After all, Carolines only 14. But considering her age I think she is amazing! And I think in a few years she will definetly be even better then she is now

  9. i think caroline zhang is a big! threat 2 kimmie

ppl just dont think so cause ppl kno kimmie better then caroline

caroline has the speed goin into her jumps and she consistent on her jumps (unlike kimmie)

and have u not seen carolines PERLE spin?!!!!!

kimmie was one of my fav skaters but then i watch caroline skate and now she's up there w/ alissa czisny!!!and everyone else

  10. i think kimmie has a greater chance. zhang's technique is just too shaky. kimmie is really powerful

  11. I actually do think that Caroline will be a threat to Kimmie - at the Grand Prix Finals, she finished ahead of her, but of course, Kimmie was just having a bad competition. It really all depends on how Kimmie is doing - if they are both skating at their best, then Kimmie will most likely be able to beat Caroline - especially if she has that triple axel.

  12. I think that Kimmie will be able to beat Zhang. Caroline Zhang's jumping technique gets downgraded a lot. She does a flutz instead of a lutz. I think that Kimmie usually has pretty good technique.
