Figure skating problems :(?

1) I have troubles with my one-footed spins. My coach said not to look down when you do them and that helped my balance tremendously, but what other tips are there to help me keep my balance netter? :) Thanks

2) When I looked at the blades on my skates, (I bought them, they're not rentals) the blades don't sit exactly on the center, they're kinda crooked, not too terribly much, but I was just wondering if this is normal or if they're supposed to be that way or if they're just crappy skates. :) Thank you!!

  1. put your hands together

  2. 1. keep ur hand above ur free leg and hold the positio for bout 3 revolutions.

    2. every skater likes their blade set differently, if u like the blade like that, then leave it, if it is harder for u to skate, i would take it out n put it back it properly.

  3. Most blades are mounted slightly off center.  If you think they feel wrong or you're having trouble with your skating, take them to a pro shop and ask to have them re-mounted or something.  On your one foot spin, make sure you center yourself well and stay on the right part of the blade.

  4. when you put you skates on, you blade should be placed between big toe and second toe. Then you can out our skate on the flat surface and see if it can stand by it self....And finally go on the ice and glide on one foot on the straight line, you should feel comfatable doing it, if you fighting to stay straight then you blades are not in the right place.

Spins are quite hard to learn and everyone learns then at different time, because spins are just feelings of you weight on the ball of your foot. You have to hold you body strong and try to pull you self up as much as you can, at the same time pressing the ball of your foot down on the ice. But as I said spins are not easy to learn, some people are more natural that others.....
