I been looking for training videos when I came across this site.

mysk8coach.com

Do you think it's worth the money?

I just need some helpful video tips. The videos on youtube aren't all that great.

  1. no. I don't think it's woth the price it's too expensive haha I can pay an hour of particular class with teh same money i would pay 3 videos... think about it :P

  2. I've looked at their site and was not impressed with the videos. The sample videos shown are shot from so far away you can't see detailed images of edge positions of the skaters.  I would say not to waste your money on this or any other videos. You're better off with private lessons.

  3. Although I think the idea of their site is clever, I agree with the others that you may be better off getting private lessons for your money.

Videos can "show" you things, but they can't point out or fix your particular problems in skating.  What we "feel" when doing a move and how it actually looks can be completely different . . . it's good to have a set of trained eyes observe your skating and give constructive criticism based on YOUR skating.  Hands-on tips/instruction makes so much more sense than what any video or book can offer.

I've spent some bucks on videos . . . many of them turned out to be quite iffy.  I probably watched them once and shoved them away somewhere on the shelf.  I was always on a skating budget (still would be if I were skating) . . . but if you have money to burn, check it out for yourself!  If you don't like them, they offer a 15 refund policy - no questions asked. http://www.mysk8coach.com/Site/FAQs.html

Here are some FREE videos online . . . whether they're good or not you can decide - but at least you won't have to pay for them!

  4. To tell you the truth, sitting on your butt watching Tv isn't going to give you any experience whatsoever. get out there and practice!
