Earlier today I turned my computer off and turned it back on.

and this message shows up;

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.

Seleting 'r' at the first screen to start repair."

I did not delete any file on my computer to make it appear.

I dont have the CD-ROM.

It wont go away, I tried pressing F8 when booting it up.

Selecting everything, nothing works.

and I cannot get anything to show up where I can get on the internet, or pulling up the documents.

Is there anything that i can do to get it to reboot again?

without downloading anything because duh i can't download nothing to the computer. cant access nothing.

I think that i had a virus on my computer or it was infected because pop-ups kept saying that, and pop-ups kept popping up. It was because i downloading something off of Limewire.

so is there anything that i can do, or was it because of the virus?

  1. Take it to a repair shop or find the restore cd.  If you can't do that, purchase an operating system (eg. Windows XP), reformat the hard drive, and put an Operating System back on it.
