Question:

Files missing in the Config folder of Sims 2, no option to turn custom content off/on?

I have a problem with my Sims 2. A lot of my custom content won't work. I've tried following tutorials, but some require what I'm missing:

1. NO required files in D My Documents The Sims 2 Config. I only have two files, no file which manages cc.

2. Do you know where you go to settings in the same and have the option to turn cc on and off? Well, I don't have it, it's a blank space. What should I do?

Maybe, someone could upload the correct Config folder and I put it in my game. Would that fix it?

  1. *cough* *cough* i think its something wrong with ur files

  2. Sometimes the game does not create a Downloads folder and you have to create it yourself. This is the reason you are not getting the Enable Custom Content message- you don't have a Downloads folder.

    Creating the folder is easy.

Just right-click on some blank space somewhere inside the C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 directory. Choose 'New' then 'folder'. Name it Downloads with a capital D.

Now you have your Downloads folder.

Double check that the correct path for this folder is C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads

Now this Downloads folder is where all your downloads should be extracted to.

You have to restart your game for the Enable Custom Content dialog to come up.
