Filion and Benfeito win silver in 10m synchro - Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix Diving Competition
Canadian divers Roseline Filion and Meaghan Benfeito nabbed the silver title in the Women’s 10m synchro at the 2011 Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix Diving Competition in the Olympic Park on Sunday, May 1.
Filion and Benfeito scored 318.90 points in the following meet.
“I was shaking. I didn’t know how to react. I saw everyone starting to cry and coming to jump in my arms. It was indescribable. I saw the reaction of my family in the stands; they were super happy, and they know all about the efforts I’m making,” said Filion.
She claimed that she had to cope up with an immense mental strain, headache and anxiety in achieving this title.
Filion of Laval is the one of the most popular divers of Canada today, as she won the bronze medal in the Women’s 10m synchronised event in the 2005 World Championships. Besides, she snared the bronze title in the corresponding meet in the 2006 Commonwealth
Games.
On the other hand, Benfeito is also known to be one of the most professional and versatile divers in Canada today.
She snatched the bronze title in the 10m synchro in the 2005 World Championships. Benfeito won the corresponding event with a bronze medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Furthermore, she wound up third in the 3m synchro in the 2007 Pan American
