Atletico Madrid recently won the European Super Cup against Chelsea, and even though the Blues were favourites to come out as winners against the Europa League winners, Falcao made sure that the Spanish side wins, as he scored a hat-trick in the first half.
Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League last season while Atletico Madrid won the Europa league. Both these teams were impressive in their respective European competitions; however, Chelsea were not really considered to be the favourites to win the Champions
League final.
With these two sides facing each other in the European Super Cup, Chelsea were expected to win, but Atletico Madrid won the game 4-1, and showed the world what they are capable of.
Atletico Madrid defender, Filipe Luis was present during the game and after the match he hailed his manager, Diego Simeone, and stated how he has made a significant impact on the team’s performance.
Luis also expressed his delight after winning the Cup as he believes that the win is prestigious.

After winning the European Super Cup, Atletico Madrid are going to travel to face Real Betis away from home.
Atletico Madrid are currently 6th in the Spanish La Liga points table and they are aiming to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
