  1. There used to be so many Filipinas who came to Japan with entertainment visa but the situation has been changed. I used to be invited with several Filipina friends and experienced much of fun like in Manila many times.

Now a days, most of all Filipinas who work in Philippine pub have their Japanese spouse anyway. If they have spouse visa they can do hostessing performance there legally.

Entertainer visa doesn't allow them to do hostessing but performing singing or dancing only legally.

Now except some illegal bars, almost of all the bars are not same as about 5 years ago when the immigration office and police were not strict to  check violation of law those days in Japan.

You can drink, smoke, eat Philippines food and talk, do dancing or karaoke  with hostess,  they may do something special for you if you are so kind and favorable to them in box but not guranteed. Touching or kissing them are very standard there if done gently.

Average set price is around Yen10000 per hour but it depends bar's pricing system and how do you play with hostess. If you request somebody to seat next to you, it must be charged. If they want to drink or eat food, you pay.

If you don't designate anybody, hostess temporaly seated next to you will soon disappear after few chat for next customer who may pay for them possibly. It is same thing for every Japanese night business. The only difference is you can speak English with them fluently much more than Japanese hostess.

There are still many customers of Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Iranian, Korean, Australian, American  and lot of Japanese of course. I never heard Japanese only Philippine pub.

  2. Young Filipino women work in a "Filipino Bar" in my my small city of 50,000 people. In this particular bar there are no Japanese women employed. There are approximately 30 girls alternating as hostesses and dancers. Their hostessing duties involve sitting and talking with male customers in varying levels of broken Japanese, drinking expensive 2000 yen non-alcoholic drinks, singing Japanese karaoke songs solo or with a customer. The customers pay for their company, their drinks and any songs that are sung.

Holding hands is encouraged, groping is discouraged. The girls are not available for s*x in or out of the club.

The dancing involves them stripping to bikinis (no nudity) after performing some Las Vegas style routines on a stage. They are not particularly good dancers but their honest smiles are refreshingly cute.

I was went with one of my Japanese buddies. Between the two of us we spent 30,000 yen over the course of 2-3 hours. The manager came up and told me that I could stay for the rest of the evening but was not welcome back as they had a "no foreigners policy". I nodded and smiled (just because that is what I have trained myself to do over the years). When it came to pay over $150 (my half) for four beers (and a few sodas) I got sort of upset and asked him at the register, "Is my money difficult to spend?, why do you have that rule?". He responded of course with a smile and said that the rule was made by the owner, not he.

So, I am a foreigner who is not welcome in a bar staffed by foreigners.
