Hi all,

I am trying to find out a recipe for a drink that we had at a work function. There was alot of phillipino women there and they made a pink drink that was to die for! I asked them and one of them said it was halo halo. It looked like pink milk but had jello in it. I have went to restaurant and got halo halo drinks but it is not the drink i am looking for. Does anyone know what it is called and a recipe maybe. My fiance is filipino and i want to make the drink for our wedding reception. His mom will be here and i am sure she will like it. It was a sweet drink, and it was a ligh pink color with jello and fruit cocktail in it. cant remember anything else but it was soooooo good! Any help would be great,

Thank you!

(I dont work at the place any more or i would ask the girls there)

  1. It's not halo-halo, or it'd have beans and ube and all sorts of crazy stuff. It's either gulaman, or a close variant. I do remember that I had a drink similar to that before in Quezon City. If I remember, it had banana extract in it, and sugar, along with the red gulaman jelly, turned pink by the condensed or evaporated milk. I can't remember the exact recipe or the name for the life of me, but that's a fair approximation.

  2. Is it a Gulaman drink? search it in google, i think its what you're looking for.. I miss that stuff..

Or it really could have been halo-halo, it could have melted..Halo-halo is usually shaved ice with a mix of fruits and stuff like that..

  3. Halo-Halo just means MIx-Mix.

The milky part is usually condensed or evaporated milk. Mix it with crushed ice and jello and fruit bits to your own taste. You can have it in any colour you want. It can be alcoholic or not depending on your taste.
