filipino citizen and us alien resident, wants to travel to canada, do i need a philippine passport for reentry to united states, i applied for one but after 4 weeks it still is not available, i have other documents like grren card, drivers license... i am crossing border by car not air... help, i travel this monday, my friends tell me i might be able to cross to canda but might not be allowed reenter america,,, anybody knowledgeable in this area?

Contact the local Canadian consulate asap.  As you are not an American, I do not think that Canada will let you in, even with a green card - generally, green card holders do not need a visa to visit Canada.  You will definitely need a passport to get back into the US.
