have you eaten a filipino dish? what does it taste? what is your favorite dish?

im filipino and my personal favorite is baga(lung). it is usually deep fried and tastes like a mild steak with a semi sweat flavor. If you would like to eat something not as weird as the baga, you should try siopau which is filipino dumplings filled with usually pork

as mentioned already, Lumipa and adobo is the favorite of non-filipino's eating our dishes. Also Sinigang is a soup that is favorite. A lot of my friend love Pancit Palabok (noodles) and Pancit Bihon (fine noodles).

Generally - I love all Filipino dishes, being that I am filipino. But after eating many different cultural foods, nothing beats a home cooked filipino meal. :)

Adobo is No. 1. Its pork or chicken pieces sauteed with garlic or bit ginger(optional) with water, vinegar, lots of garlic & soya sauce. Ready to eat when the sauce turns oily. Can be eaten with white rice, fried rice or bread.

Congi---I make it now, absolutely delish. Tastes like chix soup, but the rice has been boiled down to like a 'porridge' style---add scallions & ginger...wonderful!

Lumpia is a famous Filipino dish, it's basically fried spring rolls with meat/veggies inside it. It's usually dipped in a sweet-and-spicy sauce. Another good Filipino dish is Pan de Sal, which is basically dinner rolls made of flour, eggs, lard, yeast, sugar, and salt and cheese, butter, and sugar are popular  toppings to spread on it. A main dish, called pancit canton, is basically pan-fried thin rice noodles with meats and veggies, it's very Chinese-influenced.
