Question

I want to achieve the Speed of 22 miles/hour in my new boat which has total displacement of 50 cubic meters.

What is the suitable Engine Power to be installed to reach the desired speed?

Theoretically,  if one horsepower can go while displacing a cubic meter of water continuously inside one nautical mile, then you will need 22 horsepower.

But I don't know if this is so.   As a matter of fact,  I don't even think a horse can go one nautical mile without drowning.

Sorry Datu. the shape of the boat is critical. A block of wood will not go as fast as something the shape of a fish, and it will need lot more power to push it.
