  1. AMA stands for Amable M. Aguiluz, the founder of AMA Computer School. They own ACA Video too, which is owned by one of the sons.

Very proud indeed. Even before they tried venturing overseas, they have been producing quite good IT and computer-related professionals.

The reason why they have quite a lot of campuses in the Middle East is because of the Senior Vice President Karim Bancola's close ties with the officials of the Middle Eastern countries. Before they actually pledge their trust with AMACC, Bancola has ventured to a lot of programs and proved that this family owned company is one of the best  IT schools in the Philippines. They were were indeed right and gave their full trust with the school and now AMA is not only producing professionals in th Philippines but also abroad.

  2. Yeah..!!

  3. then the source stands corrected

  4. Very proud, indeed!!!

  5. its owned by the Aguiluz family and stands for their patriarch name. The students of AMA have made a name for themselves alone, because of their skills and not the other way around. AMA didn't have much of a stature to begin with. The school is pretty much a diploma mill who had to beg the CHED way back to issue them some accreditation for their picketing graduates who couldn't get ribbons from the DFA. Has AMA at least improved? Its a franchise much like jollibee, they care about the money and not the kids. They even have tacky ad campaigns on robotics which features the tin man from the wizard of OZ as a highly advanced robot dancing to sarah geronimo's voice. Should we be proud? I'm proud of the AMA hackers that brought the world to its knees even for a week, like straight out of a William Gibson novel.

  6. you bet ye we are.

  7. If their quality of teaching there is the same as over here, then I'd actually be more ashamed than proud. Sana yung dumi natin, sa atin-atin na lang, di ba, para di na tayo mapahiya?

It means something if a lot of DLSU jokes had to be revised to make way for the biggest diploma mill in the country (and I'm not just talking about computer/IT schools, even their nursing school isn't too impressive either).

  8. There is much here in the Philippines which Filipinos should be proud of....

On this subject alone.... the relatively tiny nation of the Philippines has FOUR schools on the list of 1,000 best schools .... IN THE WORLD !

    now that is impressive
