Filippo Preziosi happy to have Valentino Rossi’s technical feedback on Desmosedici GP12 – MotoGP news
Ducati Team Technical Director Filippo Preziosi is pleased to have Valentino Rossi on the final test day of the Desmosedici GP12.
The Italian tested the 2012 MotoGP Ducati prototype at Mugello circuit, Italy.
The 1000cc Ducati prototype was brought to Italy for testing it with the new settings. The changes were made after the feedback of Nick Hayden and Valentino Rossi at Jerez recently.
Preziosi said, “I must say it's a strange sensation, but also a really nice one, to be here at Mugello with Valentino, on a track where we've been rivals so many times in the past. We worked on the electronics and various other updates to next season's bike,
some of which were made following the requests that Vale and Nicky had given us during their first outing with the bike about a month ago at Jerez.”
Valentino Rossi ran 60 laps in perfect weather conditions. The Italian rider was in good health conditions and felt no problems physically and technically with the bike.
Preziosi said that is has been a useful test session which will help the factory engineers to develop the Ducati GP12 in right direction before creating a final version of the 2012 prototype. He said the new changes will appear shortly in the GP12 after
the technical feedback given by Valentino Rossi. The Italian rider has always been very supportive in the development of the bike and understands the technical aspects very well.
Since Rossi’s injury last season, he has visited the Mugello circuit for the first time. The new pavement was very helpful and provides even better grip for riding at high speeds. The holes on the track have been covered very well, which were also memorised
by Rossi.
Preziosi added, “Vale also really appreciated the new asphalt: we have to compliment the folks at Mugello, because they really did a great job.”
Rossi has just earned his first podium with Ducati in the Le Mans event. The next race at Catalunya on June 5, 2011 is very crucial for the Ducati Team.
