Question:

Filled my pond again this year and I have an algae problem?

I have a small pond which is in the sun for about 6 hours a day. I have a serious algae problem. I tried barley when the water was clear, but I got a bloom anyway. I have some commercial algae control stuff from last year, but it will not work. I assume it has lost its effectiveness b/c it worked like a charm last year.

I can't get out to get some more. Does anyone have a home remedy for algae in the pond?

  1. S.A.B. or String algae buster is what you want to use. It is expensive but works extremely well.  The trick to using the product is to do about 3-5 applications.  It is made by Aquascape ECOsystems.

You can find SAB at most garden nurseries rarely at the big box stores.
