If I am going away, out of the country, and want to fill a prescription for medication I take that is a schedule II controlled substance, but the date on the prescription is a week from today (8/31/08). Can I still get it filled? I live in Massachusetts and I was under the impression that the written dates on prescriptions were more for insurance companies.???

  1. That depends on the drug.

If you're going to Germany or the Netherlands, and it's pot, you can buy it in almost and bar in the country. (It's still illegal, but still...)

Other than that, you would have to contact the Embassy / Mission / etc for the Country and explain your situation. Some perfectly legal drugs (in the US), even if controlled substances, are very much illegal and carry serious Jail Time for simple possession in some other countries.

    Good Luck!
