At our new house there's a lot of rooms that are wallboard. and i HATE wallboard. It's wood wallboard with like little grooves ever 7 inches or so, can we fill in those little grooves with plaster then paint over it? To make it look like regular walls? It's so much work to tear it down, put up drywall and everything. It's easy to paint over since it's not vinyl, we're just wondering about filling in those little grooves... :)

  1. This is a relatively easy process.  First, be sure that the paneling is securely fastened to the wall.  Scuff it with sandpaper, then prime.  Fill the grooves with joint compound, allow to dry, then skimcoat the entire wall with another coat of compound.  After this dries, sand smooth and prime again.  The wall is then ready for paint.  Good luck.
