If a person has been fired from their previous job, how should they fill out the field where asked "why did you leave your last job?"

  1. Write that you were laid off and work on how you will explain the situation in the interview.  Or, you can leave this job off your application, but they may ask about the gap in jobs.  I think that honesty is the best approach.


  2. The company downsized.

    On the application where it says "In case of emergency call" write 911.

    They love that.

  3. It would depend on the reason for the firing.  If it was a serious infraction(stealing) then there is a problem that is not solved except by lying or leaving that job off the  job history. If it was a non serious infraction(Being late ) then I would say that  it was mutual resignation
