Filling out scholarship...i don't understand what it's asking...?

okay, so there's this scholarship for $11,000. and i can renew it every year. i already got it. i'm just renewing. and on the renewal application, under the section for college, it asks "accredited by"...what does that mean? what do i put? i'm mailing it out tomorrow before the deadline. help!

  1. Colleges and tech schools are accredited by various groups, meaning they meet certain education standards and requirements. Even high schools are accredited by the state or a Christian organization. Do a search by your school's name and accredidation. It should come up.


  2. All colleges are accredited by an accrediting agency in order to be eligible for federal funding and financial aid. Depending on the school, it may be have the accreditation of several agencies.

    You can do one of two things:  go to the school's website. Look there for the accreditation. Or call the school in the morning and ask.
