Filling?????

Question

i have 2 teeth that need to be filled, or cavity w.e,,

im so scared, is there a way that i can make it better?

its on my back mollars, i cant take any type of numbing

substance or neadles or anything because, i get reaction from it like, lafing gass or numbing stuff ,,PLEASE HELP

u mean you're allergic to anesthesia or you're scared??!

mmm...filling doesnt need anesthesia (making your tooth numb) EXCEPT if it's very deep, it's much better to be injected than to feel the pain from the bur =)

and by the way, if you're allergic to one type of anesthesia, juz tell the dentist, he'll find another type of anesthesia which wont trigger your allergy

it will not hurt you, only sensitivity. Hold on for a few minutes, it will all get over. Its just the drilling that causes sensitivity.

amalgam fillings are FINE dont listen to that guy.  i am a dental assistant.  i actually can fill teeth too.  the amount of mercury in the fillings is small.  

and to get composite fills on ur back teeth isnt suggested because that can lead to major sensitivity.  if its a deep cavity and u fill it with composite, a few years down the line u may end up needing a root canal.   amalgam is always suggested when filling mollars.  

and for the shot, if ur dentist is good u shouldnt feel it at all.  the guy i work for is amazing at it, he filled my tooth and i never felt the needle go in.

There are alternatives to novocaine if you're allergic, including nitrous oxide.  The most important thing here is to find a dentist who respects your sensitivity and is open to finding alternatives.  Quite a few are conservative and close minded and won't be helpful.  Walk out, pay them nothing.

There are quite a few who are though and that's the one you want.

Also, please be aware: metal amalgam contains mercury and is harmful!!!!  For real.  Be extremely suspicious of anyone who says otherwise.

White composite fillings are very real, and very much available.  Lots of people get them.  They're much better.

I have a friend with the same thing...he say it dosent hurt at all....by the way the freezing stuff bugs me 2. he used it on me and that night i was at the hospital cuz my mouth hurt so much. t'll b fine. just tell ur dentist if (s)he dosent know. they are very  friendly usually. hope this helped :) good luck
