Filly Theyskens’ Theory lands the Fillies’ Stakes at York – Horse Racing Update
Filly Theyskens’ Theory claims the sportingbet.com Fillies’ Stakes at the York race-course on May 13.
This Listed event was comprised of fillies of age three and was run over a distance of a mile.
It was indeed a very clear victory that the filly claimed in the last furlong. She was backed at odds of 15-8 for this race.
Those who saw the race claim that the victory came to the champion filly rather conveniently. She was carrying a weight of 5lbs for this race. She trains under the care of the dedicated trainer Brian Meehan. Theory did not have a tough time holding off the
field of seven rivals that also included the 16-1 favourite Sylvestris and the 25-1 shot Wrekin Sunset. In the last year’s edition of the Fillies’ Mile event, Theyskens’ Theory was the third place finisher behind the race-horse White Moonstone. This was a
Group 1 event. In this particular race, she was the only black type winner amongst the field. She then went on to contend the Group 3 race which she also won. This was the Prestige Stakes that took place at the Glorious Goodwood.
Theyskens’ Theory gave a spectacular performance in this race. She impressively held off Sylvestris and then moved on in to the lead when there were still about two furlongs left to the end of the race. She managed to win the race by reaching the finishing
line two and a quarter lengths ahead of the field. The filly has consistently shown an impressive performance in the past few races.
In a post-race interview, the winning jockey Martin Dwyer was reported as saying, “That was beautiful. She told us when she was ready and this was a nice place to start. We were going to go for the Musidora but thought that would be too hard a race first
time out.”
The pleased jockey further went on to say, “She was a grade above these today and hopefully now it’s onwards and upwards.”
It will be interesting to see how Theyskens’ Theory carries the winning momentum forward into the next few races of the season.
