Okay so im going to be a junior in my high school, and ive been thinking about my carrer. I absoultuely love Film editing. Ive been editing videos with my computer since i was 12, and I feel I have a pretty good creative eye. I feel that digital media is an excellent choice. I do also though love reading and writting. Its something i want to perhaps major in. Maybe do something like magazine editing or working for a newspaper/broadcaster. Well the thing is, where should i start in?

Should i go to a community college first or a UC school?

Anybody has a major in these fields?

  1. First: community college first is a great idea, you'll save money and have faculty that are focused on teaching rather than research.

Second: the career that combines scriptwriting and film editing is: film.  You can major in it at many California universities.

Third: best plan for clarifying your goals--when you start college (or even before), your campus will have career counseling services.  Look them up and get involved with them.  They have the tools to help you clarify your career goals and the information needed to advise you about how to plan your education most effectively.

  2. I want to be a film director. and I have some short stories. I wouldnt mind making a colaboration..
