I plan to buy a Polaroid 600 instant camera for an art project I'm going to work on in a few weeks.

I heard something about film for Polaroid's old cameras are going to be discontinued in 2009.

Is someone going to release the film for the camera when Polaroid stops releasing it?

If so, soon after?

  1. Polaroid has stopped making their film. Some of it will be available through 2009. They have licensed some of their films to Fujifilm, but I doubt that the 600 type film will be one of them.

If you really need a 600 type film camera, get one used on ebay or craigslist.org, where they can be had for a few dollars.

  2. I doubt anyone would release the film afterwards. Polaroids are low quality photos whose main advantage was replace by digital cameras.

    See link for buying online.

You always can buy a bunch of film and stick it in the freezer. Then it lasts for a long time. (wait an hour after taking it out to shoot it)

  3. my daughter has one of those cameras it a barbie one. it works in great condition and she dosent want it anymore.
