Look at odeons website; www.odeon.co.uk and take a look at the ratings/reviews given for the films..... You might have to click on recommended and have a look and at the bottom of the recommended page and click on browse the entire range to see film ratings for the films you have seen!

What ratings on odeon are over hyped or under hyped on that website in your opinion?

  1. I don't trust any of the reviews on the Odeon site - they have good commercial reasons to be biased.

Have you tried IMDb instead? (International Movie Database).

    http://www.imdb.com/

It's free (although you do have to sign up [still free]to get the most out of it), and is great for impartial reviews and finding out movie trivia - like finding out who the actor was who played Judy Garland's father in 'Meet Me in St. Louis' (I used it for exactly that 10 minutes ago, for reasons that are too complicated to go into).

  2. The problem with reviews is that they all need to be taken with a pinch of salt. People have different bias towards films and genres and different believes. Some people think saw and hostel should be banned personally i though they were great films.

What i am getting at is that a a film can be misjudged for a certain audience, this means that reviews can easily be over hyped to attract more viewers. I think we all should stay away from reviews and decide for our self's if we should see the films. If I like the look of the film I will see it, if I think hang on this could be over hyped, I don't look at reviews I simply wait till it comes out on dvd and rent it as it is a lot cheaper than going to a cinema and better as there are no idiots causing a nusence.

  3. www.rottentomatoes.com

    www.metacritic.com

If a film doesn't do well on both sites, I will not pay to watch it. I'll get someone else to come with me, and pay, obviously.
