Filming A Summer Documentary?

Question

For the upcoming summer, I wanted to film a documentary that records all the fun times me and my friends have together. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions or tips on how to do so.

I did that last summer, but it turned into an indie filrm because last summer was super depressing.  I reocrded everything we did that was eventful, and even somethings that had no point.  Like I have five minutes of my friend smoking, drinking, coffee, and looking over his book smiling at me.  

I took all the dialoug out and put it to a soundtrack.  The songs had no lyrics either, I wanted people to interpret it in a way meaningful to them.

But then again, I'm an artist, so I put so much thought into everything.
