Filming set location in Milton Keynes?

I work for a production co., and we need to do some filming in Milton Keynes. We have certain requirements for the set and I’m wondering if you might be able to help.

What we need is to interview about 7 people individually against a blue screen, so we need a soundproof place that’s big enough for the screen, two cameras & autocue. (A hotel-esque setting would be ideal, but a hotel will not work because they are not soundproof.) We also need a place for everyone to wait comfortably for their interview, and a nice place (which could be the same area as the waiting area) for everyone to be filmed together, on nice sofas, talking (a sort of living room setting, w/ coffee table, maybe a plant or two, etc).

It’s possible that we might be able to bring some of these things in with us, in which case we would need a soundproof place big enough to decorate w/ room to spare for the cameras etc.

If you are shooting in MFK, presumably you are filming some desolate, end of the world type scifi story like 28 Days Later, except in this case everyone wants to be turned into zombies because it is preferable to living in that hellhole.

If you are paying for your location then there must be fifty places in MFK that would suit your purposes. If you aren't paying then put an ad in Shooting People (www.shootingpeople.co.uk) which usually works.

PS To the poster above. Almost right. MFK was not the location for Superman 3, the second worst of the Superman sequels. It was used as a location for Superman IV : The Quest For p**s, which was far and away one of the worst films ever made anywhere, anytime. Mind you, Superman IV and MFK made a very pretty pair, don't you think?

Erm... Have you not heard of the Milton Keynes theatre?

They should have soundproof rooms, it will be a very nice location and there will be a waiting area and a room big enough for your equipment. They might even be able to help out with some of your filming equipment.

Stantonbury Campus in Milton Keynes has a well established drama heritage. They might have studios and settings relevant to your needs.

Otherwise give Marshall Amplification a call (in Bletchley, about two mins drive from Central Milton Keynes) - they too will have soundproof rooms which they might let you use. However, they might not have the space for your equipment, plus it is a business (offices), so the location might not only be poor, but they might be hesitant to let you anywhere near the building.

Otherwise, how about Milton Keynes Horizon Radio? They too might have the facilities you require.
