  1. You might want to talk to your folks about an early birthday present. If they see how keen you are, they may be willing to spring for a second hand film camera or even an old cine camera that allows sound to recorded. eBay has a number of working systems.

With conversion, you will get lossy output and it won't look the best.

If I might make a suggestion, concentrate on your art rather than the final look of the movie. Cinematography is what you have to reach for. Regardless of the medium you use (video tape or film) it is how the movie looks that will blow people's minds.

If you can submit short films and animations and get regular payment for these, you will soon have enough money for a camera capable of 24fps.

    Good Luck!

  2. You can't get to 24 fps from that camcorder - it is locked into 30 fps (technically 29.97, but you probably already know that).

You may find a video editor or other conversion utility that converts for you, but it won't look quite as good.

The only consumer camera I know that comes close is the Canon HV20 when the 24p option is selected.
