Question:

Films in tuscany dialect?

Hello all,

I am looking for italian films with reference to the dialect from Tuscany. The only one I've been able to follow was "Berlinguer ti voglio bene" from Roberto Benigni. I've seen some other movies from Leonardo Pieraccioni, but those are more italian than Tuscan in general.

I would like to know if you can recommend me any movies that portray this magic region from italy. If you have some suggestions of new titles I would be glad to hear from them.

  1. I'm tuscain, but to be honest I must say that there aren'y many movies in the dialects of tuscany. And, if they exist, i don't know them!

Leonardo Pieraccioni has the typical florentine apcent, Roberto Benigni use more a mixture of all the dialects of the region! XD

I can suggest you the movie "bagnomaria" (1999) of Giorgio Panariello, friend of Pieraccioni and comedian of italian television ; )

He plays many characters in the movie and use the dialect of the high side of Tuscany. Of  cities near the region "Liguria" but still in Tuscany. ; )

    Enjoy it ; )

p.s I write in italian "answers", if you really need something more specific contact me and i'll translate your question in italian and put in "italian answers" section of "movies" ; )

  2. Well... all Leonardo Pieraccioni and Roberto Benigni have a huge tuscany accent... see "Il Ciclone" by Pieraccioni. I'm not tuscany and I understood very difficul what were they saying!
