Filter question please help?

ok so i have a 20 gallon saltwater tank itll eventually be a reef but for now only fish anyways i wanted to get a new filter and i want a powerfilter but i have 3 types i want that i cant decide on either a bio-wheel, a renasmartfilter, or the new whisper ex for those who dont know what the whisper ex is heres a link http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578 3579 3608 19169&pcatid=19169 so which one should i get?

  1. Out of all the ones you listed I would definitely go with the rena. Rena's are good quality filters, and even though you pay a little bit more, they will probably last longer than the others. I personally though would recommend an aquaclear 50 over any of them, if it is biological filtration you want, you have the option of stacking it full of bio media. And at the same time you will have the mechanical filtration in the form of the sponge. It will hold alot more media than the others.

    anyway for a salt water tank that you plan to go into a reef with eventually I wouldn't go with a power filter I would get a good canister filter in the long run it will save you money since you can easly add a uv sterilizer to the canister filter later on
