Final Delivery in the limelight for the Stapleford Selling Stakes at Leicester
Maneuvering the Class 6 Stapleford Selling Stakes as the second victory of the season is, Final Delivery. The race will be staged at Leicester over seven furlongs and nine yards on Thursday, 28th June, and has attracted a line-up of four three-year-old runners.
Three Valleys’ three-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Bowled Out, has tried his luck thrice ever since the season took off. He cracked into the 2012 season on 18th January in the Holtye Handicap at Lingfield over a mile and two furlongs. He was the last on the line-up of five while the race was won by Good Morning Star.
Island Melody, entered as the favourite in the race, ended third.
The George Baker trained took charge of the Norfolk Racing Club/Oakley Horseboxes Apprentice Selling Stakes on 10th April, 2012 at Yarmouth over a mile and two furlongs.
Final Delivery won as the undisputed favourite and went through the wire with 1 3/4 lengths’ margin. Imperial Stargazer finished the closest to the winner.
He failed to keep the consistency intact which was reflected in his fourth position in the England Specials At Betvictor.Com Handicap on 19th June, 2012 at Brighton over a mile.
The race was won by Zaeem who left the favourite runner up of the race, Good Luck Charm, adrift by just half a length.
Final Delivery broke his maiden on 30th December, 2011 in the Mirror Punters Club Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Wolverhampton over a mile and half a furlong.
This will not only be his first time at Leicester, but will also be the first instance that he will ride with jockey, Pat Cosgrave. The dual will break from the third stall.
The only potential threat on the otherwise harmless line-up is, Future Wonder, Whipper’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Savage.
Even though she could only manage the sixth position in the Lay Back And Win At Betdaq.Com Maiden Auction Stakes on 7th September, 2011, her performance was promising. If that promise will hold true in her seasonal debut or not, will not take long to unfold. Future Wonder will take it on from the fourth gate and will be paired up with jockey, Chris Catlin.
