Final Fantasy 8 keeps crashing how can I fix it?

Hi I'm playing through Final Fantasy 8 on the PSX for and I get to the point where Squall rescues Rinoa from the Sorceress Memorial. But when It goes to the FMV/cutscene of them hugging each other the game just freezes and won't get any further. I can hear the playstation still working as if it is trying to read it but I have left it for 30 minutes and only made a tiny bit of progress.

Is there any way I can skip this cutscene? Or how can I fix the disk so it will read properly?

  1. Unfortunately, you can't skip any cutscenes.  There are disk repair kits out there, but I've never found one that works well.  You might as well get a new copy of the game if you can find one.  Or at least a new copy of that disk.

I ended up getting 3 copies of that game (4 if you count my PC version)  Weird though, it was always disk 2 that broke.

    Anyway good luck.
