  1. Not at all. Kingdom Hearts gameplay is action-oriented. When you hit a button, your character performs an action, like swinging a sword. In this sense, it is more adventure-type play, like that found in Zelda.

FF gameplay is very turnbased, like Pokemon. In FFX, you predetermine an action your character will take (such as attack, or spell, etc.), and choose a command. The command is then performed. There is no action present. While FFXII is a bit different, it is still turn-based at heart (you can tell the computer to perform certain actions automatically, but it still plays out in a turnbased fashion).

    Hope this helps...

  2. When compared to Final Fantasy X it's not really alike at all... you still have to build up your skills and XP and all of that, but the fighting system isn't the same at all. In Final Fantasy X it's all turn based, but in Kingdom Hearts, it's more open and a bit of a button masher I guess. Although there is still things like magic spells and potions to use, so it's not completely button masher. It is very similar other than the turn based aspect.

And when You say XII is that supposed to be 12 or X 2? I'm assuming 12... So if it's 12, then the gameplay is a little more similar, in that the battling is a bit more open, but it's still turn based, it just doesn't do a cutscene every time you enter a battle. I would say 12 is closer to Kingdom Hearts than 10, but they're all pretty close. The controls are essentially the same, and they're all just very good games in my opinion.
