Final fantasy vll advent children ?

Question

iv got the final fantasy vll advent children and i dont fully understand it ... im only 14 so i didnt play the 1st games on ps1.. do i have 2 buy them and play them 2 understand or are there other movies that are the same as the 1st games ?

or could someone just tell me the story?

Well the best web site ever for FFVII is the FF7 Citadel. It has been up and running since the game was released, and they still update! http://www.ff7citadel.com/

Here is a little bit of info on the game:

In the game, Cloud and his team are trying to stop Shinra from draining the planet of Mako, which in their world is the Lifestream. The lifestream is made up of the souls of all living things that have died, so if they drain the lifestream, the planet dies.

Along the way, Sephiroth shows up and is trying to destroy the planet as well, but with a large meteor. He wants to destroy the planet because he believes he is an ancient, and that the planet belongs to his mother, who is an alien named Jenova. (weird, I know)

Aeris was a sweet flower girl who truly was an ancient (they are just a race of people who can talk to the planet) and the only one who could save the planet. Sephiroth ends up killing her  as she prays on an alter:(
