Final ranking of the 12th Central American Women’s BVB Championship revealed – Volleyball news
The 12th edition of women’s Central American Beach Volleyball Championship started off on Friday, July 20 and revealed the final results on Sunday, July 22.
A total of nine female beach volleyball teams (two-player teams) from five countries participated in the competition. San Salvador in El Salvador set up an excellent field of play for the thrilling matches. At the end of tournament, teams settled down in following order:
1. Ingrid Morales/Natalia Alfaro- CRC-1
2. Elia Torres/Swan Valeria Mendoza - NCA-2
3. Katherine Quesada/Eugenia Ramirez - CRC-2
4. - Diana Romero/Marcela Avalos - ESA-1
5. Kathya Vasquez/Ma. Fernanda Vargas - ESA-2
6. Valeska Hernandez/Lolette Rodriguez - NCA-1
7. Blanca Recinos/Stefany Bolaños - GUA-1
8. Joana Arroyo/Hashlyn Cuero - PAN
9. Nadia Galan/Ana Villagran - GUA-2
The pairing of Ingrid Morales and Natalia Alfaro de from Costa Rica emerged as the top team of the competition. The CRC-1 team was challenged by Nicaragua’s Elia Torres and Lolette Rodriguez in the final encounter of the Central American BVB Championship on Sunday. The Costa Rican duo proved to better in every aspect of the game and grabbed success in straight sets, 2-0 (21-19, 21-18).
They climbed up the top slot of the Central American Beach Volleyball Championship for the second time in row. Hence, they successfully defended the title by edging out rivals from Nicaragua.
The final match featured a lot of action as the scoring remained tight throughout the match. Morales- Natalia claimed first set of the match with only two-point margin. The Nicaraguan ladies gave a good competition to opponents in the second set, but suffered the loss with a deficit of three points. Therefore, Costa Ricans marched away with the gold.
Morales was totally satisfied with the results. She shared her thoughts after the match and stated: “This is our fourth title together, second consecutive. This is the result of a continuous workout and practice, and even if we’ve been ill during the tournament as athletes we were able to do things right.”
On the other hand, the bronze medal match of the 12th Central American Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship featured Katherine Quesada and Eugenia Ramirez of CRC-2. The second Costa Rican pair also demonstrated a wonderful performance and held off hosts Romero/Avalos for 2-1 (19-21, 21-16, 15-8) victory. The home duo failed to profit from the familiar conditions and lost to visiting Costa Rican pair. Quesada-Ramirez of CRC-2 exhibited terrific feat and secured the bronze-ware.
