Final rankings of South American Beach Volleyball Circuit revealed
Following the successful conclusion of the South American Beach Volleyball Circuit, final standings of the participating teams were revealed this past Sunday, May 8, 2011.
The South American Beach Volleyball Circuit ran for about eight months as it was started off in October 2010 and it completed its final stage in the month of May 2011. It featured nine stages, while the competitions were held in various South American countries.
First stage of the Circuit was hosted by  Colombian beach city Aratoca and afterwards Cabo de Santo Agostinho in Brazil; Lima in Peru; Vina del Mar in Chile; the city of Montevideo in Uruguay; Asuncion, Paraguay; San Juan de los Morros in Venezuela and Ecuador
became the hosts of South American Beach Volleyball Circuit competitions.
Women’s and men’s teams from five countries were on board to contest their attack and defence capabilities. There have been some exciting performances and good beach volleyball entertainment over past few months. At the end of the campaign, men’s team from
Chilli and women’s team of Brazil topped the ranking. Following is the ranking chart of men’s and women’s teams respectively.
Men’s Ranking

Chile: 2.160 Brazil: 2.120 Argentina: 1.880 Uruguay: 1.880 Venezuela: 1.860
Women’s Ranking

Brazil: 2.220 Colombia: 1.980 Argentina: 1.820 Uruguay: 1.520 Ecuador: 1.120
The influential final stage of the South American Beach Volleyball Circuit welcomed the teams at the sands of Esmeraldas in Ecuador. The men’s and women’s duos installed their bases at the sunny beaches of Esmeraldas. In the men’s division, Brazilian pairing
of Evandro and Oscar came across Chilean tandem of Esteban and Marco Grimalt in the final showdown.
The former launched their authority on the Chilean side by posting 2-1 (21-23, 23-15, 15-8) on board. However, Chile still clawed its way to the top position on account of better points.
On the other hand, the women’s final match featured teams from Argentina and home team of Ecuador. Anne Gallay and Zonta Virginia represented Argentina, while the duo of Ariana Vilela and Katherine Chila was tagged as the home team. Argentinean team clean-swept
the opponents aand posted 2-0 (21-17, 21-16) victory. Nonetheless, after compilation of points Brazil settled for the top slot in ranking.
