Question:

Finally! The commentators for the women's gymnastics all-around said...?

that the score for the Chinese girl on the balance beam was way too high! As I was watching the men's competition, I could not believe how much higher the Chinese scores were than the USA on the high bar. I'm not saying that the Chinese didn't deserve the gold in the end, but our boys performed much better on that apparatus for lower scores. It just seems to me that the scoring in gymnastics has blatantly been in favor of the Chinese. Opinions?

  1. I missed that one, but I am 95% sure at least Some of those Chinese girls are underage. & That ain't "sore loser" territory. That's downright cheatin territory.

  2. May i just ask what nationality is that commentator...if he/she is american then i have no more to say

Why can't you just get over it!!

  3. hah, be prepared to be called a sore loser. They think we don't have any right to complain and if there is some hocus-pocus going on, we're supposed to keep quiet. That's how they do it in China. Hush...

  4. What were the difficulty scores for all the Chinese teams beam routines?

Its not too high until you know the difficulty score. Once it is written, it does not change. The errors are subtracted from the B score in tenths. The worse deduction is 8 tenths for falling off.

    Again - example.

Girl A has a routine with a difficulty score of 6.0 and performs it flawlessly, earning her the whole B score - total of 16.0

Girl B has a routine with a difficulty score of 7.0, and despite no other problems, she does fall off. That is deducted from her B score - her total score is then 16.2

Girl B wins despite falling off because she tried to do something more difficult than Girl A.

  5. mos def!!!!! Hosting countries typically receive better scoring because of the fan base helping them out, judges feel more compelled to give them higher scores and look the other way when they make a mistake.  This is why I don't watch or like judged events, in my opinion, you can be robbed easier than a timed trial (track n field, swimming, etc.) or feat of strength (power lifting, wrestling, etc.).  The only judged event I will watch is boxing, because even though there is judging involved, at least the boxer has the opportunity to knock the other f'er out and leave it as a no contest vote.  Kinda like "who you gonna vote for....me, standing in my corner, or that dude laid out in the hospital in a coma?".  = )

  6. i personally thought the beam scores were blatantly biased.  uneven bars, johnson got shafted.  vaulting, china got some extra home turf points.  floor routines were right on.  gold, silver, bronze went to the rightful owners.

  7. the chineese scores for diving and gymnastics have been rated much higher for very simalar prefomance one reason for that is lets not forget that the olimpics are in china, hint hint

  8. there chinese were great.  the americans were good. thus the chinese won!

  9. I was so pissed last night watching.  Luckily we got 1 and 2, so it made it worth it, but come on.  I am so glad that they actually said something last night.  They were always backing China, but it finally came out!  The judges are definitely favoring China, not only in gymnastics, but also diving.  I think the US is screwed in any judging event.

  10. Well there always is controversy regarding the home Turf.  I personably thought the Chinese atheletes in gym were phenominal but I do admit that some scores in judgeing are freakishly high.  It doesn't look good when everything that is Judged is being won by the Chinese athletes by a Huge amount.  From what I have seen the atheletes that have won deserved it but the amount they won by is always very high.

  11. ooohhhh .. i like this picture really a lot ..

check this out! It's so true, She is shorter than the others..

N with all the comments .. I'm SURE she is underage!!!

    HAHAHHAHAHA

  12. It definitely looked like the Americans were being scored harshly while the Chinese were given a lot of breaks, on balance beam and uneven bars. To the people who say that complaining about unfairness is being a sore loser or that we should 'get over it'  - you are idiots. Biased judging has been a feature of Olympics forever, and Americans havequite frequently been the targets. Judges have actually been caught taking payoffs. Grow up and stop tryng to control other peoples' opinions. The ***-kissing of China that has gone on at these Olympics from the media (and some judges) has been disgusting.
