One thing that is good about Obama he doesn't have to be afraid of the race card which in fact is an unfair advantage over McCain. When you see it, if McCain had said there was need to control immigration the press would have boned him silly with the race issue. Finally it seems there is a leader that hopefully can break the fear that the majority of politicians have of being destroyed by the race card. Even in the UK often times a needed, strong policy is needed but the race issue is always over played and prevents many needed policies getting implemented. Believe it or not foreigners want to immigrate to western nations because there is a rosy picture of them having the better leaders and more effective policies. Time to get back to working with the facts rather than fears and evasive maneuvers to avoid being aced by the race card. Often times it seems our leaders are simply boxed in, could this be why they all seem to have the same nature?

  1. Your thought is true as it pertains to the African-American community.  I do not think, however, that Asians or Latinos will be as forgiving.  It will be interesting to watch.
