My husband and I have been struggling with a name that is different but not trendy. Our son's name is Gage and we really want to pick a name already so we can start talking about the babies arrival. The two names we have narrowed it down to are CADE or COBIN. (not Corbin) I worry Cade is too similar to Gage and may become popular where Cobin is different but may be too differnt. Opinions please, thanks in advance.

  1. Cade, sounds better

    Cobin..robbin, sobbin, noggin..eh

  2. Cobin for sure.  It's a nice teenager and adult name too as he will be hitting those stages of his life one day.

Cade, could cause conflict between the two boys and teasing from their peers when they get a little older, and you don't want that!

  3. I like Cade! I like Caden better tho....

  4. definatly cobin people will get your two children mixed up lol  x

  5. Hi the name is Priscilla Carrera!!!

Well, see I hope I can help! I am going to give you the meaning of each name and as for me I would love my kids to have a similar name! I mean it would be cute! But really that would be towards you and your husband! :)

  6. Cade and Gage, it's cute but I think the little boys will get confused when you're calling one of them... So Cobin, it's pretty original, some people may think it's a typo - but I like it.

  7. I think Cobin is a pretty name, different and unique, but different in a good way! Why shouldn't your son's name be  special &  unique? Your son will be both, for God is giving you a special gift!

  8. I perfer Cade.

  9. Cobin it a lovely name i really like it, I like it a lot more than Cade i don't really like that name at all.

  10. You should not give him a name that he has to tell people how to spell or pronounce, or has to explain to people for the rest of his life.  He will resent you for it in time.

  11. I really don't like Cobin sorry but i love Cade! It sounds awesome! Congrats! Stick with Cade!

  12. I like Cobin, but actually like it spelled Coben (like you had it in the edit)

    I also like:

    Ridge

    Cohen

    Bishop

    Lincoln

    Hope this helps

    = )

  13. I like Cobin its very cute & orriginal!

  14. I like Cade. It's a cute name, and I don't think it sounds relatively close to Gage.

  15. Maybe Gage and Asher or Ashton. I have always thought those names went well together. But out of your names I like Coben better because cade is too much like Gage

  16. Definitely Cade.

Cobin will be mistaken for Corbin.

    Congrats!

  17. wow both are good names but it think i would go with cade. cobin sounds a tad unfinished.

  18. I prefer Cade over Cobin.  I love unusual names, but Cobin can be confusing. Is it CO ben with a long O or does it rhyme with Robin? With Cade there is no doubt.

  19. N gage?, O gage?  Was your husband playing with his trains when you named this poor kid?   You made a mistake with the first one why would you repeat it with the second one?   Honor the grandfather and the name the baby after your husband's father.

  20. How about Caden? Not too similar to Gage to where you get the two confused and the "n" is still in there from Cobin.

  21. I agree that Cade is close to Gage but I don't really like Cobin. How about combining them into Caden.  I know that is a popular name but at least it's a little more different than Gage.

  22. I prefer Cade.  Cobin sounds like you misspelled Corbin.

  23. definitely cade, all the corbins i know are annoying

  24. Cade.  Cobin is hard to say and just looks like your forgot the r in Corbin.

  25. cobin

  26. How do you pronounce Cobin?

I like Cade better between the two, but I agree with you that it's a little bit similar to Gage.

  27. Cade <3 it really is`nt that similar to Gage

  28. I like Cade. I really really like Gage.. You did a great job!

  29. Cobin makes me think of Colby, like the cheese.  I don't care for it (the name, not the cheese ^_-).  The sound combinations are awkward.  I don't really like Corbin either but I feel like that at least flows a bit better.

I think Cade is actually quite nice.  It sounds a bit like Gabe, which I also like.

  30. I <3 the name Cade.

    Thats cuteeeee.

    Congrats on the baby :)

    x

  31. I also like Cade. I don't see it skyrocketing in popualarity, but it's a good solid name.

Cobin, although a real name, would be mistaken more often than not for CoRbin.
