As I was registering for classes for the fall I was told I had a "Hold" on my account. So I couldn't do anything until this matter was cleared. I went up to the business office and asked if there was a problem with my account, I informed them that I have Financial Aid and it was more then enough to cover this semester. They told me there was no proof. I provided the papers with proof of Financial Aid. Then the business office told me that financial aid has yet to pay my bill. I went to the Financial Aid office and asked about this situation and they told me that it would be paid soon, but they couldn't give me a date.

So at this moment the government has yet to pay the bill, but the college has took the hold off my account. The question is has anybody else having a similar problem, and what were you told?

  1. Usually there is a hold because the Financial Aid Office didn't pay by the due date. There is usually no problem with removing the hold. The reason for the hold is because the Financial Aid has disbursement dates that navigates when bills are paid for students. When your funds are disbursed it based on when Financial Aid process your aid and there disbursement dates not but bill dues dates. Usually I would email my financial aid advisor when any issue regarding my aid arise, including holds and disbursement. You get a quicker response plus the Financial Aid Office can (and does) contact the Business Office regarding holds to explain student financial issues on there behalf.

  2. Actually this happens a lot.  And what I suggest you do is call or visit the fin aid office EVERY DAY until the matter is straightened out.
