I just got my SAR through my email. They said I need proof of my citizenship. So when I get the copy of my citizenship from my mom, I'll be taking it to school. My EFC is 0. How soon will I get my aid after I turn in my documents ?

I'm starting school on May 27th and this financial aid is for this summer. How much do you think I'll be getting if I'm full time during the summer ?? My tuition is about $566.00 and my I'm not sure how much my books will be. But I'm only taking two classes which are 6 credits, which is considered full time.

Will my financial aid cover my tuition and books ??

Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. the money will go straight to the school, and once it is verified that the amount is reasonable.... a check comes to you.

You  might have to get a credit card to buy the books, and when the check comes you can pay off the credit card.

That's a really cheap tuition. And only two classes.

So your financial aid is going to cover the cost of going to school. That's what the aid is for. The school verifies the amount. Sometimes you can get a little more for food and gas. But your tuition is low and only 2 classes.

Unless you asked for extra for living expenses like rent... you're only going to get enough to go to school.

At best you can get a refund, if you dropped a class last minute to get the funds.. kind of a cheap way to get the money.

  2. You should ask your school when summer aid is dispersed. It will usually be about two weeks after summer sessions start--if its the same at every college. Everybody gets aid dispersed around the same time.

The earlier you turn in your fafsa the better, remember. It makes SUCH a difference to get it done right away...you get a lot more aid! And of course, your aid depends on your parent's financial situation (if your dependant).
