  1.   x^2 + 2ax + 3bx = x

    First, rearrange the terms,

      x^2 + 2ax + 3bx -x = 0

      x^2 + (2a+3b-1)x  =  0

    Factor out x from the left hand side of the new equation.

      x[x + (2a+3b-1)] = 0

    This new equation is true whenever x =0 or x = -(2a+3b-1).

    Your solution set is:

        x is an element of { 0, (1 - 2a - 3b) }

  2. to find x in terms of a and b,

    x^2 +2ax +3bx =x

    x^2 +2ax +3bx -x =0

    x^2 + x (2a +3b -1) =0

    factor out x

    x [ x + (2a +3b -1 )] =0

    thus,

    x =0 and x +(2a +3b -1 ) =0

    x =0 , x = 1 -2a -3b

    =)

  3. Solve for x:

    x^2+2ax+3bx=x

    x^2+2ax+3bx-x=0

    x(x+2a+3b-1)=0

    x = 0

    x = 1-2a-3b

  4. x²+2ax+3bx = x

    x²+2ax+3bx-x = 0

    x(x+2a+3b-1) = 0

    solution 1, x = 0

    solution 2, x+2a+3b-1 = 0

    x = 1-2a-3b

    .
