El Salvador is a hub for Taca airlines (national airline of El Salvador) so try checking in their website. Taca is the most reliable airline to fly to Central America according to many people. Don't try Copa (Panama) is sometimes not reliable and I've had so many problems with it.

3 major airlines travel to El Salvador on a regular basis.  American Airlines, United Airlines and Taca Airlines.  I've also seen Mexicana Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and many others arrive once in a while.  

Since you did not provide a departure city I can't look for a low price for you.  Your best bet will be to try the many search engines that offer travel.

Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline, farechase.yahoo, and even travelzoo can provide you with a good deal.

Keep in mind that American has a lowest price guarantee.  If you find a flight for a lower price, they will match it.  United doesn't advertise it, but they will also match the price.
