  1. let x be the number.

    x/1  = 1/x + 2/1

    You can do the rest.


  2. I'm getting -1 + sqr(2)

    Let x : number

    x = 1/x - 2

    multiply the equation by x

    x^2 = 1 - 2x

    x^2 + 2x - 1 = 0

    Use quadratic formula and only use the plus sign.
