  1. the social security death index is here...

You can 'force' it to list all Roberts who died in Allentown, Pa, which I did.  No Annie.  Either she has a different name on her death cert or she died in another location, close by?

Remember, this index is an index only.. not a full death certificate, and it only goes to the early 1960s.

You can try running it as Anne/ Annie with a different location, if you think you will recognize the date with her birth year. If you know the cemetery where she is, you can normally check with them.  I would not suggest trying to find an obit, unless you have a concrete date.

  2. If you're looking for a death certificate, you'll have to apply for one thru the State of Pennsylvania's Bureau of Vital Statistics and you will have to pay for it.

It will list a lot of info; dates of birth & death, cause of death, place of birth & death, husband's names and parents names (if known or given by nearest of kin), funeral home and place of burial or cremation.

The library in Allentown, may have the newspapers, with her obituary, on microfilm or microfiche.

We need more info to search genealogy sites:

Is Roberts her maiden name or married name?

    Husband's name?

    Children's name(s)

    Parents names

    Her place of birth

  3. SSDI

    Name ANNIE ROBERTS

    Birth 04 Feb 1881

    Death Dec 1969

    Residence (Whitehall, Lehigh, PA)

    ZIP 18052

    SSN Issued 182-42-8259 Pennsylvania

Wendy was right, I found her in Whitehall which is a suburb of Allentown.  It's only the SSDI but hopefully it will give you something to work with.
