  1. You have to only evaluate your differentiated function:

    f'(x) = -4

You will notice that gradient is always -4

If your function was supposed to be:

    x^3-4x+3 then:

    f'(x) = 3*x^2-4

    f'(-1) = -1

    f'(2) = 8
