  1. set your analog clock to 11:40, get out your angle measure thingy(sorry i forgot what they are called) and measure it.

  2. geometry is the easest subject i dont see why people have so much trouble

  3. 90 degrees. I can't tell you the formula or how I counted, but all I did was move each hand up 5 minutes so it was on 12 and 45 and that's a perfect right angle!

  4. The clock is round and has 360 degrees.  15 minutes on the clock is a quarter of an hour. A quarter of 360degrees is 90degrees. the distance from the 8 on the clock and the 11 on the clock is 15 minutes, the hands would be at a 90 degree angle. Just look at it. There ya go.

  5. the hour hand is at the number 11 and the minute hand is at the number 8.

    in other words the hour hand is at the 55minute mark and the minute hand is at the 40minute mark.

    so you would set it up like this...

    (55minutes-40minutes) / 60minutes  =  X / 360angle

    15minutes / 60minutes = X/360degrees

    1/4 = X/360degrees

    360degrees/4 = X

    X = 90degrees

  6. each tick is 6 degrees because there are 60 ticks around the clock and 360/60 is 6. So, draw out the clock and count the ticks in between the hands and multiply by 6. Good luck!

  7. 11:40 -- so the big hand is two thirds of the way between the 11 and the 12 and the little hand is on the 8 (yeah, that sounds basic, but let's go for it).

    The whole circle of the face of the clock is 360 degrees.  So, you have 3 and two thirds divided by 12, and then multipled by 360--and that's your answer.

    If it were 3 over 12, it'd be one fourth of 360, or 90.  If it were 4 over 12, it'd be one third of 360, or 120.  Two thirds of the way between 90 and 120 would be 110--which, by the way, is your answer.
